Puppy Adoption Information

Let's Start the Conversation

We are so happy that you are interested in our precious puppies. Feel free to contact us via email (preferred) (lauren@cheerfulbaker.com) or phone/text (502-785-8864) if you have any questions. The puppies are the offspring of our LOVED pets Tango and Winston. They are already loved and cared for by our dog-loving 18 year old son, my husband, and me. They are in our home in the living room right by the warm fireplace. They will be held, loved and talked to during the day as my husband and I both work from home. We have 5 cream/white, 1 caramel and 3 black puppies, 4 females and 5 males. All puppies will be raised with Early Stimulation Training which makes for calmer more easy going dogs. (Ex: Not scared of thunder because they have heard it their entire life)

Step 2: Completing Your application

If you are interested in purchasing a puppy from Cheerful Puppies, please fill our our application form listed at the bottom of this page. The application will inform us of your puppy preference and the environment that your puppy will be raised in. Once we have received your application, we will let you know via email that your application has been approved and that you are cleared to submit a deposit. Please note that as the breeder, we reserve the right to refuse any sale, and your deposit will be refunded. We want our puppies to go to the best possible homes to live out their best poodle lives!

Step 3: Reserving a Spot on the waiting list

In order to reserve a spot on the waiting list, a $250 deposit is required. If all of the puppies have been claimed before it is your turn to pick, then the deposit will be returned to you. If you absolutely have your heart set on a particular puppy but it is taken before you get to choose then we will return your deposit. You are required to tell us your preference for male or female when your deposit is paid. We will add your name to the pick list on this page, according to when your deposit is paid.

Step 4: Visiting the litter.

The puppies will be welcoming visitors after celebrating their week 3 birthday. We welcome and encourage you to visit and fall in love with your new best friend. We want you to meet mom (Tango), dad (Winston), Stacy and Lauren. Both Stacy and Lauren work from home, so visits will need to be scheduled. You can call/text Lauren to schedule your visit at 502-785-8864.

Step 5: Picking your puppy

Picks for our litter are honored in the order that deposits are received. Picking begins when the puppies turn 5 weeks old and after we post the puppy photos and videos. You may pick in person or pick from the photos and videos. Please have your first, second and third pick options in your heart before pick day. We will send you a text message notifying you when it is your turn to pick your best friend. From the time of notification, you have 24 hours to inform us of your pick. If you don't pick within that time frame, we will pick for you based your known preferences. We will be happy to help you with your pick based on our intimate knowledge of the puppies.

The day is here to pick your best friend out of the litter! It is PUPPY PICK DAY!!! Puppies will be available to go home the first part of may

Step 6: Paying for your puppy

The price for puppies is $1200. Puppies will be available for pick up at 8 weeks and full payment is required before pick up. Your deposit will be deducted from your final payment. We are happy for your puppy to stay with us until it is 10 weeks old if this is better for your schedule. Again, you are required to pay in full before pick up and invoices are mailed out to you at 7 weeks for your convenience. Cash is always the preferred method of payment but you can also pay with Paypal. Personal checks will need to submitted 2 weeks in advance of your puppy going home with you to ensure the check clears.

Step 7: Preparing for your puppy

We want you and your puppy to have the very best experience together right from the start. We would suggest purchasing a crate or play pen, food and bowls, and a variety of toys.

Step 8: Taking your puppy to it's new home

Puppies will be available to go home the first week of May. We want them to have as much time with Tango and Winston as possible.

On pick up day you will receive the following:

A clean, healthy, de-wormed puppy with his/her first set of shots

A puppy veterinarian health record and birth certificate

A baby blanket and special stuffed toy that has the smell of the littler and their mom on it

A sample of the food that they have been used to eating

A new puppy owner gift bag with information about the breed
